FGS Dongzen Temple 2007 6 March, 2007

Last Sunday, 4-March-2007 was the 15th day of Chinese New Year. It is also known as “Chap Goh Meh” or “Yuen Xiao Jie”. This day is for single girls to wish for a good quality future husband. According to tales, girls will stand on a bridge and throw mandarin orange to the river, wishing the other half will receive her wish. Guys will wait below the bridge and use net to collect the oranges. Those oranges carry the wish will connect both the girl and guy and make them a couple.
Some story told that guys can also throw apple to the river. Nowadays, girls will write down their contact number or email address on the orange before throwing it to the river. Pity MPPJ the next day. Wondering what will happen if the girl’s orange is collected by the MPPJ worker. She will marry him?
Well, I am not wishing to get marry at the moment. So I choose to have reunion with family instead of throwing orange on that day. I went to FGS Dongzen Temple with Jason, Thien, Pei and her bf, Maui (Thien & Pei are my younger sis), for CNY Lantern & Flora Festival 2007. All over the place is full of flower, especially purple lavender everywhere. Feel so comfy and nice there. Besides flowers, all over is hanged with lanterns and also some drawn by kids.
Under the lanterns, there are Chinese puzzles with number. We can write the answers according to the numbers and send for checking. We got 26 out of 44 puzzles and we won a set of FGS postcards. Besides games, there are exhibitions (books, cds stamps, photos, flowers and also stones) on both of the halls.

There are also parades of Buddha, Lion dance, Dragon dance, olden day’s princesses etc. We also went into the temple for prayers and light offering for parents. Later we went to vegetarian food fair to fill out our hungry tummy and rest our tired legs.
At night, all the tress are wrapped with lights and all the building are lighted up. Lights everywhere..! So nice..! There is a tower 5 storey high. But the wall is made of cloth. Everyone is queuing to get up the tower.. well, except me.. I scare it cannot support me =P
There are also 12 animals and are lighted up at the night. Little monks are everywhere for you to discover them. Mist is spraying from the lavenders and makes the place feel so heavenly. We are tired but it is really an enjoyable days. It is really a good place for sight seeing and shooting. I will go again next time..

Valentine’s Day (Feb 14)
For lover to express their loves. Girls will use this chance to express their loves to her admired guys by sending gift to him.
White Day (Mar 14)
Guy who receive gifts will return another gifts to the girl, if he also likes her.
Black Day (Apr 14)
Those guys who do not get any gifts on Valantine’s Day or those girls who do not get any returns on White Day, they can get together and eat black bean sauce noodles.
Ahaha.. isn’t these are humorous days? People really can come out with whatsoever kind of days. No matter what kind of day, just don’t create chaos like those did on Single Awareness Day (SAD). If they say “Lovers Go Die”, doesn’t it mean their parents also lovers? If no lovers in this world, they want to have more enemies and hate? Haha.. I just trying to create a little happier, lovelier and peaceful place to live in ^__^
Chinese New Year 2007 13 February, 2007

Chinese New Year will fall on 18 February 2007 (1st day of 1st month of lunar calendar). These are what we normally do during CNY:
Before CNY
- Buy new clothes. (I bought blouses, skirt, pants, sleeping dress, shoes and even undies =P)
- Spring cleaning (To clean away all the dirty or bad luck things)
- Decorate house (Hang things that are red and gold in colour, lanterns, money/gold)
- Buy tons of can food, hampers, can drinks, groundnuts, shandy
- Make cookies like Kuih Kapit (love letters)
- CNY eve, whole family members will sit around a ROUND table to have “ROUND” dinner
During CNY
- Wear new clothes (RED) from head to toes, from outside to skin
- Youngs (single) gets AngPow (red packet) from the Olds (married). Normally, angpow comes with some $$ and it is for blessing. Kids will compete the most angpows
- Gives hampers to relatives, neighbours, friends, collegues, boss, clients etc.. Actually not give.. is exchange. End up all the hampers come back to ourselves.
- Visit relatives’ and friends’ houses. 2 reasons here: To get more angpows and to finish those can drinks, beer, groundnuts and cookies
- Gamble – just for fun, not for the $$
After CNY
- Older ppl broke, younger ppl become richer
- Gain more weight due to eating too much CNY high calori food like can drinks, dried meat, cookies
- Holiday mood desease – Don’t feel going to work
Anyway, most important that we’ve enjoy ourselves and share quality time with family, relatives and friends.
Wish everyone Happy and Properous Chinese Pig Year..!!

Flower in The Wonderland 5 February, 2007

Angela Zhang 张韶涵, had just launch her 4th album Flower in The wonderland, 梦里花 on 12 January 2007, after Over The Rainbow, Aurora and Pandora.
I love her songs because she has a wonderful, nice and sweet voice. I can hardly hear any noise even using my earphone. Besides, her styles are cute and full on fantasy ^__^ She can dance very well too.
I’ve listen to the album. This album is a bit different style from her other album. This time, she tried singing in more rock and playing around with her voice. I was really amazed.
Most of her song lyric not easy to sing or remembered. I have to write out all the “pin yin” for I don’t know much chinese. But it really worth all my hard works. Besides, I also admire how she can be so thin. She is less than 40kg..!! Not to mention she has a a very fair, smooth, shinning and healthy skin. She just “worth” to be my idol.. Angela Forever..!!
